Poor performance of the town’s new 911 calling system during a recent standoff last week on Circle Drive has town officials questioning how they can better use it to alert community members the next time a call goes out.
Around 5:30 p.m. on March 21, 54-year-old Denis Boucher, a correction officer, barricaded himself inside his home at 3 Circle Drive. His wife, in a call to police, said he had come home from work, pulled out a rifle and began to load it.
Shortly after a regional SWAT team arrived at the house, a “reverse 911″ call was sent out to residents using the Everbridge system, a communication system that allows authorities to transmit important messages to thousands of people at a time.

Limitless is one of several companies in Dubai seeking to restructure debt after property prices and asset values slumped.
Limitless, a Dubai-based developer, is proposing to pay banks interest in its US$1.2 billion restructuring, reversing its previous refusal, two bankers with knowledge of the matter said.
The company proposed to pay interest at about 175 basis points over the London interbank offered rate under the new terms, one of bankers said, declining to be identified because the matter is private. The developer plans to extend the loan by five years, the bankers said.

Dubai developer Nakheel claimed it believed its unsuccessful defence against former CEO Chris O’Donnell’s $3.7m law suit was “strong” and it would appeal the decision against it if it were possible.
In a court ruling on Thursday, the Dubai World Tribunal awarded O’Donnell $3m in overdue long-term incentive payments and AED916,893.93 ($249,624) in days in lieu he had worked and was contractually entitled to. The verdict was the conclusion of a legal dispute brought by O’Donnell in June last year.
